When a component is critical, any failure could cause major downtime or worse. In these situations, Rare Bird Designs can perform analysis’s to verify or validate component design or selection. We believe in a dual prong approach that consists of traditional engineering solving methods coupled with Finite Element Analysis (FEA). In many cases, FEA is simply overkill for evaluating a component or structures validity leading to additional expenditure that could have been avoided. Improvements such as high-feed mills and high speed milling (HSM) can drastically improve not only cut quality, but significantly reduce cut time.
